Some very curious (and cautious!) Sussex hens investigating their rather large visitor.

----------

So back in November, my first project in Technical Arts and Special Effects was to upscale and replicate a small object that could fit in your hand. Naturally, I chose to do the hardest thing (which was a huge mistake at first on my part), a real chicken foot. Now, obtaining that is a whole other story...

Anyway, this is a replicated chicken foot, 10x larger-than-life. It is made up of a welded steel armature (so fun), chicken wire (haha...), mod roc (or plaster of Paris bandages), and modelling wax. I've learned a lot on this project, including a thousand different ways how NOT to make a giant chicken foot.

It weighs a total of 15kg (33 lbs), which is actually to scale, surprisingly enough. That wasn't planed, but it worked out in the end!

Enjoy!

EDIT:
OH MY GOODNESS!! A DAILY DEVIATION! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Seriously, thank you EVERYONE so very, very, very much! This is totally unexpected, and really brightened up my week! Thank you very much for ALL the favourites, watches, and kind comments! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

EDIT 2:
Sorry for the watermark, folks! I'm just a bit cautious. Thanks again for all the love!:D

----------

I am currently moulding and casting this foot in resin, and will be selling custom-painted chicken feet! If you are interested in purchasing one, please contact me for more details and information.
